  • 2016 CCANSW Award for Excellence

     

    2017 03 15 - download.pngNominations are now called for the 2016 CCANSW Award for Excellence. The Award was created to promote and encourage the cemetery and crematoria industry and promote excellence amongst its members.

    The award recognises an individual, team or organisation whose:

    • innovation and creative advances in process, product, marketing or market support should be recognised and acknowledged, or
    • excellence and long-term contribution to the industry can be recognised and acknowledged.

    Detailed information, including a Nomination Form, is attached and featured on the CCANSW web.

    Nominations close on Wednesday, 5 April 2017. We look forward to receiving your nomination.

  • Alice Springs' Garden Cemetery Chapel takes NT architecture awards

    A public chapel for funeral ceremonies in Alice Springs won the NT's top architecture awardfor public space on Friday for creating a non-denominational, flexible public space for grieving and celebrating lives. 

    The municipal chapel that opened last year in the Garden Cemetery on the Stuart Highway between the Alice Springs airport and town, was designed to be a facility permitting memorial services from a range of cultures and religions and one that could accommodate both large and small groups of people.

    After extensive community consultation, botanical assessment and thoughtful environmental planning, the Geelong Cemeteries Trust has restored a nature reserve within a protected Coastal Moonah Woodland Area as Stage 1 of a planned larger redevelopment. The site, known as the Moonah Memorial Walk, offers graves and cremation memorials in a beautiful natural setting.
