Checklist for Interment Right Ownership enquiries - plaques or interments

Wondering if anyone has developed a 'checklist' to assist staff with making decisions in relation to Interment Right ownership?  We have families and funeral directors that contact Council in relation to making amending to existing monuments or interring cremated remains into an existing allotment and I feel we need a document that would assist staff work through this process in a methodical way.  For example- we have a large volume of older graves that no interment right ownership is documented, and we need to work with the families to determine who was the executor of the Estate in the 1970's - then if that is not available where to go next? Obtain a copy of the death certificate for the deceased to determine if they were married and how many children they had.  This may then lead us to refer to the Succession Act if the spouse is also deceased. With so many variables we find staff are having difficulties managing this process and potentially a checklist may be able to assist them in working through this.  Has anyone created such a document and would you mind sharing?
Site Admin If you can help Sandy and have a template to share please forward it to me through the usual channels so we can include it in the document library. - Site Admin - 8 months ago
