Can personal mementos be cremated with the deceased?

Can personal mementos including photographs and albums be placed in a coffin that is to be cremated?

As a general rule, the answer is no.  At times a special photo or drawing eg by a grandchild may be acceptable.  Placing larger quantities of material e.g. albums, has the potential to create issues with the cremation process and emissions.
